The African Cart’s journey began with a personal struggle. After living in Elgin for four years, I found it incredibly challenging to source ingredients needed to cook meals from my African heritage. Often, I had to endure a three-hour journey to obtain these essential items. The African Cart was born out of a desire to make obtaining ingredients to cook African dishes easier and more accessible for everyone, especially those who live in locations where these ingredients are scarce.
